The Rise of City Diplomacy

City diplomacy allows municipalities to pursue their own interests and values through additional political, financial, and technical resources stemming from transnational partnerships with foreign peers, public institutions, and private actors. Despite its growing success, city diplomacy remains a new field of action and research. This calls for a renewed effort to grasp its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
